D2L Facelift
D2L will get a new look here at Parkside. In order to build consistency in our digital footprint, D2L will be given a look that is more in line with where UWP has gone in the recent semesters, digitally speaking. This is only a new look; no new layout or tools. This look will be a change in logo and color scheme ONLY. Your tool bars and links will remain where they are but the look will be fresh and new. These are exciting times in technology here on campus and this new look will help carry our image forward. The image above is a sample of the new look.
Lynda.com

UW-Parkside has recently purchased a subscription to lynda.com. Lynda is a revolutionary website that can change the way we as an institution approach both technology and education. Lynda offers its subscribers access to over 125,000 videos and tutorials, created by 250+ authors spanning a wide variety of topics from 3D + Animation to Photography and Business. Students and staff alike will have complete access to all that Lynda offers. It is a fantastic tool that provides its subscribers with everything they need to be successful. Lynda is just one of the many resources that the Parkside community can utilize to make education engaging and successful. Lynda's broad range of topics make it easy for students to find exactly what they're looking for. The website offers tutorials on everything from Microsoft Office to the Adobe Creative Suite. The site doesn't just have software tutorials, though. It also offers a wide variety of business and creative skills that are sure to make students stand out not only in the classroom, but in the job market, too. Lynda has great videos like "Managing Your Time" and "Getting Things Done" that can help students handle stress and learn how to better organize their lives. Subscribers are able to download Lynda's free mobile app to take their learning on the go. Lynda makes education as mobile as ever, giving people the option to pick up exactly where they left off when switching between phone, tablet, and computer.

KnowledgeBase
KnowledgeBase is a powerful resource for students, faculty, and staff alike. It is a database filled with documents about every aspect of UW-Parkside life. There are tutorials and videos to talk you through anything you might need help with. KnowledgeBase isn't just for technology resources, either. It answers questions about everything from how to check your Solar account to how to download the latest version of Java on your computer. There's no login required. Knowledgebase can be found by typing kb.uwp.edu into your browser, or by searching through the resources on the Technology Help Desk page of the UWP website.

Office 365

Most students probably aren't aware that they have access to Microsoft Office 365 for free using their Parkside student accounts. Office 365 includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Office Online also includes online versions of the software, so students can do their work from any computer without having to worry about whether or not Office 365 is downloaded. Office 365 is already a powerful tool, but when it's paired with OneNote and OneDrive, it makes students unstoppable. Every tool students could possibly need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom is right in front of them. And since the apps are free, they won't have to worry about money anymore, either. With these helpful apps, students can make the most out of their education. The software works together seamlessly to ensure that students can start an assignment on campus then pick up right where they left off at home, or maybe even at Starbucks. Office 365 also has free mobile apps for members, so students can work right from their smartphone or tablet. Office 365 equips students with everything they need to make the most out of their education.
