CHAPTER SPOTLIGHT

Kudos to our  Epsilon Chapter at Adelphi University for delivering items collected during their school supply drive to David Paterson Elementary school in Hempstead, NY!

The Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) helps identify the closest KINF Network Resource Center  or  school where 75-85% of the students are enrolled in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program for our chapters who have supplies to donate. For the Epsilon Chapter, KINF first identified a school with 87% enrollment in the Free and Reduced Lunch program that was about 5 miles from the university. Unfortunately, when the Epsilon Chapter reached out to the first school's principal to make plans to deliver their donation, they were told that they did not need the supplies. Even KINF was surprised by the response and they quickly identified a second school near the university. Paterson Elementary accepted the chapter's school supply donation with gratitude.

Charity Navigator is considered one of the top nonprofit performance evaluation instruments available to potential donors. Ratings are based on a nonprofit's financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. This is the eighth Four Star rating KINF has received from Charity Navigator.

FEATURED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT RECIPIENT

Allyson Watson
Theta Eta Chapter at Rider University

As I am in the early days of my professional career, I am often critical of myself that I lack the experience or credibility in my field to influence real change. This summit turned that logic on its ear. Spending three days with peers boasting widely different experiences gave me a shot of confidence in my own abilities and potential.
