WOODSTOCK A-I-R's
MIJOO KIM + RODRIGO VALENZUELA
FRIDAY, JULY 25, 7PM

CPW invites you to join us for an engaging evening with our current artists-in-residence.

While in residence at CPW,
Mijoo Kim (Chapel Hill, NC) is addressing challenging questions about the roles and representations of women, including herself, with a specific interest in the aging process. She will be speaking about her existing projects documenting Korean female divers, or Haenyo, literally meaning "sea women" and an ongoing project about Korean adoptees, which explores memory, personal histories, and loss.

While in Woodstock, Rodrigo Valenzuela (Seattle, WA) is exploring the rich landscape and history of the Hudson Valley utilizing his new surroundings to photograph constructed narratives, scenes, and stories which point to the tensions found between the individual and communities. He will be speaking about his continued investigation of issues surrounding place, geography, and identity and his creative practice, which
is situated within the contradicting traditions of documentary and fiction.
