What does a well-run board meeting look like? Effective and engaged boards are central to strong nonprofit organizations. Many nonprofits struggle with running effective board meetings and educating board members on their basic responsibilities. Understanding these fundamentals will make it easier for a board to undertake the more important work of management oversight and strategic planning. This workshop will help participants learn best practices and effective processes so members can focus on more important issues.

Topics that will be covered in this workshop include:
  • Fiduciary responsibilities
  • Agendas (including consent agendas)
  • Minutes
  • Executive committees
  • Voting by email
  • Quorums
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Internal accounting controls for small to mid-size nonprofits
Who should attend?   Nonprofit Leadership (Executive Directors, CEOs, CFOs) and Board members.
