Legislative Wrap-Up & Liability - May E-Muni
In addition to the Legislative Wrap-Up in the May the Municipality, Curt Witynski, Assistant Director, recently summarized ALL of the new laws impacting municipalities that were enacted in the 2015-16 Legislative Session. Curt is presenting his summary at the League's Municipal Attorneys Institute June 15-17 in Sturgeon Bay and at the Clerks, Treasurers & Finance Officers Institute June 22-24 in Green Lake.

To strengthen your relationship with your state legislators, we encourage you to invite them to a common council or village board meeting like Mayor Nickels did in Manitowoc. You can also invite them to regular meetings with you and your department heads as Sheboygan Mayor Vandersteen describes in is recent column in the Sheboygan Press. Also consider inviting your legislators to join you for a morning with your DPW, PD or Fire Dept, to ribbon cuttings and planning meetings, etc. Contact Gail Sumi, League Member Engagement and Communications Director if you have questions.

Take Action: Adopt the #JustFixItWI Resolution

Adopt the resolution, send pictures of your potholes to and contact your Legislators.

To make it easy to take action, we have posted the resolution as a Word document.

In his "Letter from the Street" in the Municipality Tony Gilman,Street Superintendent, City of Rhinelander outlines what his city did on transportation funding. The state needs to find a solution that works for everyone and the League is working in coalition with the Transportation Development Association of WI (TDA). Check out the TDA Just Fix It campaign.
