I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the
observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance;
by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and
meditating on God's holy Word.

From Forward Movement-The Good Book Club
What is the Good Book Club? The Good Book Club is an invitation to all Episcopalians to join in reading the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts during Lent-Easter 2018. Episcopalians will start reading Luke on Sunday, February 11 and read a section of Luke's Gospel every day through the season of Lent. The entire season of Easter will be devoted to daily readings from the Book of Acts. These readings can be found in Forward Day by Day. http://www.goodbookclub.org/

Mary Oliver and the Poetry of Lent
 "Mary Oliver and the Poetry of Lent," is a  modern devotional beautifully designed to evoke the season's deeper meanings and mysteries. Each week pairs scripture with poems, meditations, and everyday practices
. Each poem referenced and excerpted in the devotional can be found online or in Oliver's new book, Devotions: The Selected Poems of Mary Oliver
Copies are available on the bridge at church.
