CRL Launches Sowing Seeds Campaign
First Fundraising Campaign in Our 93-Year History
The Church in rural America is at a critical juncture, with many challenges facing those who labor on behalf of Christ.
These challenges include rural priests overseeing large geographical areas and multiple parishes, as well as the lack of financial and human resources to support outreach and discipleship efforts in many communities. The need to train and equip rural lay leaders for the new evangelization has never been greater.
There are also growing concerns about the adverse environmental impacts of unsustainable farming practices, the unethical treatment of workers in the food industry, the increasing use and dependence on chemical pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides, and the need to provide food for the poor and vulnerable. The need for informed Christian leaders who work in the food and agriculture industries has never been greater.
Catholic Rural Life is the only organization in the country uniquely focused on and poised to inspire, educate, and advocate on behalf of rural Catholics.

With programs already in place to help rural America, your gift to the Sowing Seeds Campaign will allow CRL to expand our work in the areas most important to you.
Ethical Food & Agriculture:
Your gift will allow us to conduct an increased number of workshops for the
Vocation of the Agricultural Leader, equipping Catholic agricultural leaders with the tools to build a sustainable food system. Additionally, it will fund the expansion of programs to educate and support a network of thousands of lay and religious leaders across the country and internationally with knowledge to develop a sustainable future, where no one is lacking food or work and fundamental resources may be preserved as universal rights.
Rural Ministry & Outreach:
CRL's Life in Christ program, which trains lay leaders to facilitate adult formation sessions, is overwhelmingly successful. We are poised to expand the program, to help underserved rural parishes get access to materials faithful to the Church, but we need your support to do so.
Additionally, our Rural Ministry Practicum is an intensive, week-long course designed to prepare tomorrow's priests for the unique challenges and strengths of rural parishes. With your help, we can expand that program, helping more of our future priests minister to the distinct needs of the countryside.
