Welcome to I AM!
October 7 , 2016
Hello Students and Mentors!
We are excited to begin working with you for the 2016-2017 academic year!
We are so excited to work with all of you this academic year! It's already October which means school is in full swing and things are getting busy with college applications.
The CSU application is now available at CSU Mentor (csumentor.edu). Even though the application deadline is November 30, we are requiring all I AM students to complete the CSU application by Friday, October 31. Once you are done with your CSU application, we can focus on your UC application which you can start submitting on November 1. Also, this year, FAFSA opened on October 1st, so you can start applying for financial aid starting now--Carlos and Michelle will be talking to you a little bit more in person as to not overwhelmed you with too much information. For now, let's focus on getting your college applications!
MENTEES: Create an account on CSU Mentor so that you can start the application process. You can save your application along the way and make sure that you have your mentor, counselor, or I AM advisor review your application before you submit. We want to make sure that all the information you entered is correct. Also, make sure you apply to EOP at the time you submit your CSU application. It's a great program for low-income and first-generation college students attending the CSU.
MENTORS: Thank you for all the time and effort you invest in our students. Also, make sure to read the information below about the CSU's Education Opportunity Program (EOP). It's a great program available at the CSU campuses. It offers additional services to low-income and first-generation students. Please encourage your students to apply when they submit their CSU applications!
Good luck to those of you taking the SAT tomorrow!
