PREPARE FOR THE STORMS!
Check out cool new County real-time Rain Map
As we get plenty of much-needed rain, we need to be ready for these storms.

Contra Costa County has taken steps to prepare for the heavy rains. We urge residents to also prepare. Check the County's Flood Preparedness Websitewhich has helpful details and links. The county also provides free sandbags at various filling stations (just bring your own shovel).

The Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District recently unveiled a cool new Rain Map web page, which works well on both iPhones and Android smart phones.

You access the "Flood Control Rain Map" on your Internet browser by clicking here

The rainfall and stream gauge data provided on the map is:
  • Collected by a system run by the Flood Control District
  • Updated Every 20 minutes
  • Shared with the State and the National Weather Service
To use the page on your iPhone, follow these instructions:
  • Go to www.cccounty.us/RainMap in Safari
  • Click the share button ( ) at the bottom of the browser screen Click "Add to home screen"
    • Rename Title (if desired)
    • Click "Add"
    • The Flood Control District Logo should
appear on your home screen and is a
      link to the RainMap

More detailed instructions are also available here.
