Chicago Lawyer Recognizes L&P for the Largest Settlement Outside of Cook County in the 2011 Settlement Survey
We are proud to announce that John Perconti and Patricia Gifford achieved the largest settlement outside of Cook County between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 according to the Chicago Lawyer 2011 Settlement Survey, out last week. They obtained this $6.5 million settlement in a Kane County trucking accident case.

Report: Tort reform made healthcare worse in Texas
A new report by Public Citizen titled "A Failed Experiment" found that a 2003 law in Texas capping damages in medical malpractice lawsuits led to an increase in health care spending and has not significantly increased the number of physicians in the state. Read more...

Residents' Rights Month 2011 reminds us that residents of long-term care facilities are part of the community and have the right to continue to participate in groups and activities outside of the nursing home. This year's Residents' Rights Month theme, Welcome Home: Creating Connections Between Residents and the Community, challenges us to think of creative ways to involve residents in the community and to invite the community into the facilities in the month of October and throughout the year. |
