Artists' Reception and Urn Rededication
Sunday, June 26 ~ 1:00-3:00pm

Join us for the reinstallation of the George Augustus Peabody Urn and outdoor reception to meet the artists from our sculpture exhibit.

The moumental bronze urn was cast and fabricated in 1895 by the J.L. Mott Iron Works of New York for the garden of the George Augustus Peabody estate in Danvers.  Peabody served as a Library Trustee for 25 years, and in 1929, the urn was given to the library.

In 2010, the urn was heavily damaged through theft.  Thanks to the hard work of the Urn Restoration Committee and generous contributions, restoration was completed by Cassidy Brothers Forge of Rowley.
