Children and families, teens, adults--there's something for everyone at your library this summer! Deschutes Public Library offers a range of programs for people of all ages. Everyone can play the Libraries Rock! reading game for a chance to win great prizes, including free books, gift cards, a family membership to the High Desert Museum, a bike, and more. Be sure to check out our June/July issue of the Deschutes Public Library Events guide, or find a complete online calendar of summer reading programs here. It all kicks off on June 16. From rock music to rock art, and precious stones to guitar pick bracelets, there's something for everyone. All programs are free, but some require registration. See the Events guide or the online calendar for dates, times, and locations.

You can learn: how to make a tile mosaic, how to fix a bike, how to fly a drone, how to keep backyard chickens, how to identify wild plants, and 20 other things! Plus, it's all FREE. Find a full schedule online here.

Let's Read! Early Literacy Storytimes for Children
Early literacy storytimes introduce activities to help kids develop a love of books and skills that prepare them for reading and life.  A child who enters kindergarten with a strong vocabulary, a love of books, and a familiarity with playing with words has a definite advantage. You can help those skills develop! Check out books from your library to read together and take advantage of all the storytimes that resume on June 12.
