  • Greetings!

Happy New Year! Many exciting programs are coming up soon, and I would like to highlight a few. Today from 4:00-6:30, meet Joanne Van Haaster-Kelly, whose works of digital photography on canvas and acrylic paintings are on exhibit in the Gallery. If you own a Kindle, join us on January 10 for a demonstration of how to download library books for free onto your Kindle (register online or call 986-1047, ext. 3). John Ruszkiewicz will present a program on the history of Pine Island, and finally, read on for two great programs for teens. There's something for everyone at the Library; don't let cold weather keep you away!

    See you at the Library,

    Rosemary Cooper
    Library Director

The Albert Wisner Public Library is proud to host the Third Saturday Poetry Series. Formerly known as the Warwick Valley Poets, the series will meet at 3pm on the third Saturday of the month in the Library's Community Room. Hosted by Mary Makofske and Donna Spector, the series will feature formal readings by poets and open mic opportunities for members of the community to share poems they have written or the poetry of their favorite poet.

Saturday, January 21 at 3pm ~ Poet Howard Horowitz followed by an open reading.
Horowitz, a professor of geology at Ramapo College, is the author of Close to the Ground. His map poems, combining poetry and geology, have appeared in The New York Times and in literary journals.
