OSCAR'S UPDATE:  
Yes, still working on it! Stay tuned?  Still cannot find a pianist who'll commit to every Wednesday.  
 
   
WHAT HAPPENED AT AJ'S LAST SATURDAY: 
What looked like what was going to be a very slow night, for singers that is,e dinning/show room was 99% reserved, turned into one of the best nights! Right after JOHN SPINKS show just down the way at FRANKIE'S, all the singers left there and came to sing with us.  So from only 5 singers and sending in both JIM and TONY to do numbers, to 8:40 PM and 15 singers. JOEL BAKER started us off with "Pennies From Heaven" and me with "I've Got You Under My Skin", then TOM KIESCHE sang "They Call The Wind Mariah", and later he did "It All Fades Away" from Bridges Of Madison County getting a huge ovation, LORETTA SIANI followed, doing "Luck Be A Lady" and "Blue Moon" which was quite fabulous, the we had a new singer, KEVIN SANDERS NELSON who also got some wild cheers for his "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" and even bigger cheers for "Old Man River", then WALTER SCHULTZ sang "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You", and "It Had To Be You", too bad he and his wife left to go back to St. Louis, but they will be back, but told us how much he loves what we're doing on Saturday nights, thanks Walter, next DAVE BARMORE who's becoming one of the regulars, sang "Cat and The Cradle" and "Wonderful Tonight", and JIM our server sang "What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life" and "Nature Boy", and TONY did "You've Changed" and "When I Fall In Love", then two singers from LA who came to sing about a month ago returned, BILL WHEELER, who sang "Scotch And Soda" and "Sentimental Journey", and both songs he had DAVE FORTIN helping out on Trumpet, the Dave sang "When You're Smiling" and "As Time Goes By", and they brought another new singer, TRIP KENNEDY who did "I'm In A New York State of Mind" and "Brother Can You Spare A Dime", LINDSAY OULLETTE came by after John's show to sing "Rock A Bye Your Baby", and a fabulous singer visiting from Calgary, Canada gave us "Chain Of Fools", and we had CLAUDIA SUSSMAN visiting from Laguna who sang "All By My Self In The Morning" and really knocked "The Very Thought Of You" out of the park, nice job Claudia, then we had NONI LAMBERTSON, two weeks in a row... who sang "A Very Special Love" and "We Were Not To Young To Love", plus we had a really dynamic singer from of all places, Fresno, who blew us all away with her "Hello Dolly", and then there was just enough time for Joel to sing a really, really funny song he said he wrote, I think when he was 19? called "Pizza On The Ceiling", it was hysterical and really got some good laughs, and then I brought everyone down with "Old Friend", no just kidding, I think... and that was what happened last week at AJ's ON THE GREEN.
We look forward to seeing you next time! 
       
HERE'S A GOOD TIP: Reservations are a good idea for dinning in the showroom. But if you get the answering machine do not leave a reservation on it. But call after 5 PM and press '1' at the end of the message and it will transfer to the bar where it will be answered by a real person who will take your reservations. DO NOT LEAVE RESERVATIONS ON THE ANSWERING MACHINE! 
 
Also, our first round through the singer's sign up list is usually from 7:30 to around 9 PM, so even if you are somewhere else you can still drop in for the second round "Late Show" and have a drink with happy hour from 9 PM to closing. 
 
Also, talented new singers are always welcome! Sign up time to sing starts at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:30 pm and goes until 10 pm.

AJ'S NOTE: There is a HUGE parking lot just past the front lot on your left. Remember to make reservations and see you next time.  
 
Excellent turn out, about 80 people, on Sunday to see PAUL KAY 'and his trio', RON SNYDER, JEFF STOVER, & CRAIN FINE, everyone loved the show and he got a nice long standing ovation too!      

THIS NEXT SHOW ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25th has created more than usual phone calls to me this week, wanting to know if we still had tickets - that's a good sign I'd say.  So come out and see DEIRDRE MONCY & TOM KIESCHE with our very own JOEL BAKER on piano for "Broadway 1950's - The Golden Age". DOORS OPEN AT 1 PM FOR TICKET SALES...

TEN20 LOUNGE AT THE BEAUTIFUL BEL AGE HOTEL  
IN WEST HOLLYWOOD?

IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY BUT IT WAS REALLY AROUND 2003 - 2006. THE NIGHT STARTED WITH "THE GUEST STARS SHOWCASE" AND 4 PERFORMERS DOING A SHORT SET AROUND 15 MINUTES AND 3 TO 4 SONGS. RON SNYDER, THE HOUSE PIANIST, PLAYED FOR THEM AND AFTER A SHORT BREAK WE CONTINUED THE NIGHT WITH OPEN MIC. IT REALLY WAS A FABULOUS ROOM WITH GREAT FOOD, GORGEOUS BABY GRAND, AND THAT VIEW! 

I HAD SO MANY DIGITAL PHOTOS FROM THOSE NIGHTS BUT LOST THEM WHEN MY COMPUTER DIED ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. BUT I RECENTLY FOUND THE PAPTER PROGRAM I PUT TOGETHER FROM THE VERY LAST NIGHT THERE AFTER THE HOTEL WAS SOLD, IT'S NOW CALLED LONDON WEST. ANYWAY, I COMPILED A LIST OF ALL 383 GUEST STARS FROM THE 140 SHOWS ON A SPECIAL WEB PAGE IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO SEE ALL THE INCREDIBLE SINGERS WHO CAME TO BE PART OF IT. I ALSO HAVE LOTS OF OLD "MINI - DVD'S" TAKEN OF A LOT OF THE SHOWS. ONCE I LEARN HOW TO TRANSFER THEM TO THE WEB I WILL POST THEM FOR YOU TO SEE.
