WHAT HAPPENED AT AJ'S LAST SATURDAY:
Smaller turn out last week, only 8 singers and another 20 non-singers but the night was a lot of fun with some wonderful songs and performances that the audience loved. We started off with JOEL BAKER and "It's A Good Day", then later "Pencil Thin Mustache" and "Razzle Dazzle 'Em", and I sang "I Could Write A Book", and "Love Me Or Leave Me", then on with our special guest singers starting with BETH FORMELOZA doing "Mean To Me", "A Ghost Of A Chance", and "I Need To Be In Love", followed by FERDIE FORMELOZA with "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Misty" and "I wish You Love", then DEANNE CONTE with "I'll Never Say No To You", "Without A Song", and "Birth Of The Blues", and LINDSAY OUELLETTE sang "Time After Time" with "Just In Time", then "The More I See You" and "Rock A Bye Your Baby", after that it was JEAN SORF singing "Memories" and a medley with "My Man", "Bill", and "Can't Help Loving That Man", and later had us roaring with "The Laziest Gal In Town", then ED MOGAN who you remember made is debut last week, came back to celebrate his 87th birthday with us and to sing "September Song", "Georgia", and "Goodnight Sweetheart", he was followed by NONI LUMBERTON with "Till There Was You", "More Than You Know", "People Will Say We're In Love",  plus we had TONY DESIGN with "You've Changed" and the Gold Star for the night goes to his perfect rendition of "God Bless The Child". And somewhere someone sang "Ain't Misbehaving" because I had scribbled it down but not sure who sang it? Anyway as you can see it was a really good night despite a smaller crowd with I understand was pretty much standard at most places. But we hope to see you with us this Saturday night with Joel and I and a lot of the best singers in the desert and as always some surprise guests.  Until then... 

HERE'S A GOOD TIP: Reservations are a good idea for dinning in the showroom. But if you get the answering machine do not leave a reservation on it. But call after 5 PM and press '1' at the end of the message and it will transfer to the bar where it will be answered by a real person who will take your reservations. DO NOT LEAVE RESERVATIONS ON THE ANSWERING MACHINE! 
 
Also, our first round through the singer's sign up list is usually from 7:30 to around 9 PM, so even if you are somewhere else you can still drop in for the second round "Late Show" and have a drink with happy hour from 9 PM to closing. 
 
And we get talented new singers all the time and are always welcome! Sign up time to sing starts at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:30 pm and goes until 10 pm.

DO YOU REMEMBER THURSDAY NIGHTS IN THE  
TEN20 LOUNGE AT THE BEAUTIFUL BEL AGE HOTEL  
IN WEST HOLLYWOOD?

IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY BUT IT WAS REALLY AROUND 2003 - 2006. THE NIGHT STARTED WITH "THE GUEST STARS SHOWCASE" AND 4 PERFORMERS DOING A SHORT SET AROUND 15 MINUTES AND 3 TO 4 SONGS. RON SNYDER, THE HOUSE PIANIST, PLAYED FOR THEM AND AFTER A SHORT BREAK WE CONTINUED THE NIGHT WITH OPEN MIC. IT REALLY WAS A FABULOUS ROOM WITH GREAT FOOD, GORGEOUS BABY GRAND, AND THAT VIEW! 

I HAD SO MANY DIGITAL PHOTOS FROM THOSE NIGHTS BUT LOST THEM WHEN MY COMPUTER DIED ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. BUT I RECENTLY FOUND THE PAPTER PROGRAM I PUT TOGETHER FROM THE VERY LAST NIGHT THERE AFTER THE HOTEL WAS SOLD, IT'S NOW CALLED LONDON WEST. ANYWAY, I COMPILED A LIST OF ALL 383 GUEST STARS FROM THE 140 SHOWS ON A SPECIAL WEB PAGE IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO SEE ALL THE INCREDIBLE SINGERS WHO CAME TO BE PART OF IT. I ALSO HAVE LOTS OF OLD "MINI - DVD'S" TAKEN OF A LOT OF THE SHOWS. ONCE I LEARN HOW TO TRANSFER THEM TO THE WEB I WILL POST THEM FOR YOU TO SEE.
