RECIPE OF THE WEEK
SUMMER TIME BERRY BARS
While there still in season and cheap.
INGREDIENTS:
Bars
1 pouch Betty Crocker? sugar cookie mix
1 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
1 egg
1 pint blueberries
1 pint raspberries
1 cup blackberries
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Icing
1 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons milk
DIRECTIONS:
Heat oven to 350?F. Line 9-inch square pan with cooking parchment paper.
In medium bowl, place cookie mix. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture is size of small peas. Add egg; mix until combined. Dough will be very crumbly. Press half of the mixture into pan.
In separate bowl, toss blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, granulated sugar and cornstarch. Spread on top of sugar cookie mixture. Crumble remaining dough on top of fruit mixture.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until topping is golden and fruit filling is bubbly. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
In small bowl, beat Icing ingredients with whisk, adding just enough milk to make a thick but pourable glaze. Drizzle over cooled bars. Let stand 20 minutes before cutting. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

Whether you are a seasoned singer from professional to amateur, or a bare beginner, just like with a regular physical boot camp where all levels are welcome, with my upcoming intensive, you will improve your vocal endurance, breath consistency and agility and find your true voice, or greatly expand the voice you already have.
Students have experienced profound transformations from these workshops.
One student's (John F) review here: "Prior to working with Doug I studied with celebrated master teachers [names removed]. As well as having developed his own techniques, Doug uses many of the same techniques developed by these master teachers, so working with him has been a natural progression for me. Without a doubt I've learned more from Doug than I did with my previous instructors. He is meticulous in his instruction, and at the same time very clear about the how and the why of his technique. My singing has improved at a rapid pace, and it's undoubtedly due to Doug's knowledge, patience, and dedication to teaching. I would advise anyone, at any level, to work with Doug!"
In these 3 week, once a week, 2 ? hour long sessions you will - Work in-depth on powerful breathing techniques which will develop more consistency in your singing - Strengthen the muscles that make your vocal cords work - Enhance your resonation and tone - Expand your range - Learn proper vocal "positioning" when you sing - Exponentially increase your breath control And much more!
When: Three Mondays in a row, August 4, 11, 18 from 6:30-9 PM
Where: Step By Step Dance Studio 316 N Palm Canyon Dr Palm Springs, CA 92262
Fee: $120 paid in advance (deadline July 15) $150 at the door Send payment to: Doug Graham 27859 San Sebastian Ct Cathedral City, CA 92234
Bring a yoga mat or towel, baby weights (or something similar, heavy books are fine) and water. Recording devices allowed. Food will be provided during the break

PERFORMERS NEEDED FOR
PALM SPRINGS PRIDE CABARET SHOW
GREETINGS FROM BELLA DA BALL:
Hope you are having a great year. Hard to believe it is almost July.
The Greater Palm Springs Pride is only months away. The Festival and the Parade will both be held downtown Palm Springs again this year. And, the festival will be a FREE admission event again!
Touching base with you about your interest in performing at Greater Palm Springs Pride on the Cabaret Stage. It will be located somewhere on or near Palm Canyon (layout plans still being finalized).
The Greater Palm Springs Pride dates are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 6-7-8.
Festival hours tentatively will be Saturday, November 7, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, November 8, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The parade on Sunday will start further north on Palm Canyon and end near Amado and the Hyatt. This will also be one of the main entrances to the Festival.
Please let everyone you know what the days are for this year's festival and parade and that it will be a free event!
Now, onto specifics about possibly performing at Palm Springs Pride. Please review and answer and email back to me. Please feel free to forward this to other potential entertainers. All responses are subject to review and consideration. Thank you!
1. Please let me know if you are interested in appearing at the Greater Palm Springs Pride. If so, continue onto the following questions:
2. Do you have a preference of Saturday or Sunday?

5.Will you bring CD's with your songs? Or will you have musical equipment? (keyboard, guitar, band). If equipment, you provide and set-up must be quick and easy.
6. All song content, stage attire, stage presence should be G-rated as this is an outside event, open to all ages, open to public. Musical numbers should be under four minutes each.
7. Only one person back-stage (if needed) per entertainer as quick dresser. Non-entertainers do NOT remain back stage.
8. No smoking at any time on stage or dressing room.
9. All CD's must be presented to DJ/sound and/or cabaret manager a minimum of 45 minutes before your stage time. Please allow time for parking, walking, etc.
