LEARNING LIFE SKILLS:
MONEY MANAGEMENT

Can you imagine being 16, 17 or 18 years old and not having any experience with handling or managing money? That is a reality for many orphans and vulnerable children around the world and due to this lack of experience they are not prepared to be independent adults.  Our desire is to give the children at the VOH a hope for today, tomorrow and eternity, and one element of that is teaching them money management skills.

This year the older children at the village were given opportunities to start their first job! This allows for money management skills to be incorporated into their discipleship and better prepares them for a bright future. They are taught to tithe on the first 10%, save 50% and they are able to spend the rest at the Garden Cafe.  You may ask what jobs the children have, they collect eggs within our hatchery, they milk our dairy cows, they clean the classrooms at the School of  Hope, and they sew the uniforms for the school to mention a few. The children are able to work just a couple hours a day before or after school but the life experience they are gaining is priceless!

It's because of you and your generous support that we are able to offer these opportunities to the children at the Village of Hope. Thank you for the impact you are making in their lives!
