5th Grade Project
Fifth grade students have been learning about colonization in their American History classes.  They finished the colonization unit by working in collaborative groups, first to research what it was like to be a Puritan in Massachusetts Bay Colony in the 1600's, then to work as a group to create a 3-5 minute script that showed the roles, culture, beliefs, and challenges of a Puritan family.  They then acted out their short play in front of their peers.

Chapel
Next week we will continue in our latest miniseries Resolve. Our Chapel Leadership Team has invited Aisea Taimani to lead our students in worship. His style of music is island soul storytelling. He will be sharing a message of resolution in areas that plague our young society. His lyrics speak about the wounds of self harm and how Christ is the ultimate healer, the addiction of social media and how Jesus offers freedom, even more his songs encourage unity in the midst of tension by leaning on our Heavenly Father through worship.

Aisea performed in the 2015 TEDxBend with a fun song about how we need to connect with each other on a personal level. Watch his 2015 TEDxBend performance here. You can see his worship leading style here. Please join us for a soulful worship set on February 9 from 9:30-10:20am

Sports Physicals
This is a reminder that in order to participate in athletics at Valley Christian, you must have a current physical on file with the Athletic Department.  The physical is good for one year from the date of visit.  Spring sports are beginning the first week of February.  If your student is planning to play a spring sport, please make arrangements with your student's doctor to have their physical completed.  Go to vcsathletics.com/forms/ and download the Sports Physical Form to bring to your doctor.
