Izzy Hasaballa, Hunter ’22, made the most of his own struggle finding the right college and career path by advising prospective students. Following his involvement in CARA NYC and the National College Attainment Network, he was selected by then-incoming Mayor Eric Adams to serve on his transition team as a youth co-chair on the education committee. Izzy hopes to continue teaching in NYC public schools, where he has supported nearly 1,000 students at his former high school with post-graduation planning.
Izzy’s advice: “Don't be afraid to slow down and ask for help! I had my own bumpy transition to college. As I supported younger students I learned of available resources, and over time realized exactly why I was struggling. I then stepped back and properly advocated for myself.”
