Notes From the Office

We are looking forward to welcoming our Lilja Lions this week!

As we get ready for another great year, here are a few reminders about the opening of school:

The Lilja school day begins at 8:30 AM and dismissal is at 2:56 PM.

On Wednesday, August 30th, students in Grades 1-4 should report to the hardtop where their teacher will greet them. In the event that it rains, students should go to the gymnasium.

Wednesday, August 30th is a full day of school for students in Grades 1-4 only. Kindergarteners have a modified start to the school day. Please see the schedule below for details.

Curriculum Night is scheduled on September 13th (K-2) and September 14th (3-4). The schedule for the evening will be posted next week.

The first full day of Kindergarten is Friday, September 1st.

Families looking for school supply lists should know that we provide what students need; your child's teacher will communicate directly with you about this. However, all students should come to school with a backpack and a lunchpack. Also, kindergarten students should bring a rest mat.

Kindergarten (modified start to school)

Our Lilja Lions in Kindergarten start the year with a modified schedule to ease the transition to school. For the first two days of classes the kindergarten children will be divided into two groups:

Group A will attend school on Wednesday, August 30th from 9:00am – 1:30 PM

Group B will attend school on Thursday, August 31st from 9:00am – 1:30 PM

Both groups will attend during regular hours beginning Friday, September 1st for a typical school day (8:30 AM – 2:56 PM).

There will be no bus service for Kindergarten on Wednesday, August 30th or Thursday, August 31st. Parents will be required to transport their children to and from school. Please park in the lower lot at Sargent Field and walk up and around the building to the front door. Bus service will be available for Friday, September 1st. Staff will meet students at the bus and escort them into the building. Bus schedules have been published and are posted on our district website:
