It accommodates some of the world's largest cruise ships and operations, and is the busiest port in both passenger traffic and cruise lines.

 

Miami is also a major television production center, and the most important city in the U.S. for Spanish language media. Univisi�n, Telemundo and TeleFutura have their headquarters in Miami, along with their production studios. Miami is also a major music recording center, with the Sony Music Latin and Universal Music Latin Entertainment headquarters in the city, along with many other smaller record labels. The city also attracts many artists for music video and film shootings.

 

Miami is home to many entertainment venues, theaters, museums, parks and performing arts centers. The city attracts a large number of musicians, singers, actors, dancers, and orchestral players. Miami has numerous orchestras, symphonies and performing art conservatories such as Florida Grand Opera, Frost School of Music, Miami City Ballet, Miami Conservatory, Miami Wind Symphony, New World School of the Arts, New World Symphony Orchestra, as well as the music, theater and art schools of the city's many universities and schools.

 

Miami is also a major fashion center, home to models and some of the top modeling agencies in the world. Miami is also host to many fashion shows and events, including the annual Miami Fashion Weekand the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami held in the Wynwood Art District.

(GPS) Global Positioning System Mechanical Planting Technology Yields Benefits for Limoneira's Northern Farming Operations

 

Efficiency, productivity and sustainability are key components in global farming production and Limoneira spends considerable time, energy and resource to ensure state-of-the-art agricultural practices. For example, GPS guided mechanical planting technology is employed in our farming operations. There are many benefits to this technology:

 

Perfect Plant / Row Alignment allows for the mechanization of weeding, pruning, and harvesting

 

Tree / Branch Development - Exact distance between each tree means that branch development is uniform, allowing consistent yield for each tree. If trees are not planted exactly the same distance apart, branches of trees can cross, causing alternation of yield with some trees producing larger amounts of branches, but less fruit. This results in lower yields.

 

Less Damage to Plants - Planting mechanically guarantees less damage to plants, which means a lower percentage of losses during the plantation establishment.

 

Superior Root Development - When planting is mechanically GPS guided, the machine opens a deep ditch in the soil, under the exact place where the plant will be planted. This allows a larger development of the roots as they find the earth broken, also allowing faster growth rates and better plant nutrition, hence an earlier and larger harvest.

 

Higher Planting Speed - Higher speed in planting allows plantation establishment and harvesting to be completed sooner, resulting in earlier yields.
