fireworks-red.jpg DRUM ROLL & FIRE WORKS, please. I am excited to announce the soon-to-be launching of my new mobile friendly website. You will be able to view all MLS listed properties with new mobile search capabilities and request more information from me directly from the listing page. There is going to be a link to the POA site on amenities, events, tickets, governance, etc. Blog capabilities will be added.  I invite you to take a look (hopefully by next week) and let me know what you think.

You'll love the mountain view from the home on Binefar Way, one of the higher elevation streets in the Village. But if it is somewhere a little lower you prefer, check out the homes on Sayago Lane and Lorca Way. Finally, 20 Ciclamor Way is another mountain home with great views. The link to 7 reasons to use a real estate agent is included to remind both sellers and buyers how important this issue is in today's market for a stress free experience. You may find a good idea for making a move go as smoothly as possible in the article on the importance of organization.

In the "Happenings" section, there are some photos taken at the farmers market This new amenity has been very popular. Be sure to watch the short video for a look at some gorgeous Village landscaping. Finally, I added more information on Village History along with a few photos of the work on the new entrance fountain and tower.

Time for lunch!
A friend took this photo from her yard. I had to share it with you.

More Hot Springs Village History

Over the last 40 plus years, people who have come to the Village for the first time are intrigued by the entrance fountain and tower. It is not uncommon to see people taking pictures of the structure.

In 1970, Fay Jones, an Arkansan born architect and student of Frank Lloyd Wright designed the fountain and tower combination that greets guests at Highway 7 and DeSoto Blvd.

Back then, the area was known as the "Entrance Park". On Dec. 30, 1971, Cooper Communities Inc. issued a special warranty deed assigning "Entrance Park" to the POA.

Several repairs have taken place over the years from replacing the pumps, electrical and water metering, new brick facing, repainting the tower and wells dug to supply the fountains with water.

It was recently decided that the tower and fountains were beyond repair and should be torn down. The fountain tower has been a memorable symbol of Hot Springs Village for so many years that a new one should take its place. The work is now underway and will be completed in a couple of months. I can hardly wait to see the new structure standing proud and tall where its beloved predecessor stood.

Photos below show work on the new structure taking place.

The concrete slab for the pump station has been poured. The rock work is being repaired, and the liner for the upper pond was poured June 30.

The concrete liner for the lower pond was poured this week.
