Greetings! 

Tip O'Neill coined the phrase "All Politics is Local" and here in Orange County, we work to ensure that we keep connected locally.  OCMA works closely with the Orange County Board of Supervisors on many programs that affect physicians.  

We have advocated  for additional funding for the County of Orange's Medical Services Initiative for the county's indigent population and for funding for  mental health inpatient beds.  We work closely with county staff to ensure that tobacco settlement funds get distributed fairly for physician reimbursement and for programs that increase access to care.  We have had many successes over the years.

To that end, it is important that we build relationships with local elected officials.  One of the ways we do that is to support their campaigns for supervisorial seats.  We are writing to encourage you to contribute to DOCPAC, the Orange County Medical Association's local political action committee.  While CALPAC, the California Medical Association's political action committee, contributes to candidates for the state legislature, DOCPAC contributions are made to candidates for county elections.

Current law allows us to contribute $1800 per election cycle.  Our balance is nearly depleted with less than $2000 in our PAC.  Please commit to a minimum contribution of $75 or consider a larger donation to ensure that we build up our resources.
