Who Says You Can't Go Home? Philly's Lisa Raymond Returns to the Fold!

As fans who followed the Freedoms draft day coverage on Facebook and Twitter found out as part of our real-time Roster Draft coverage, one of the most decorated pro athletes ever to come out of Philadelphia is returning home! The Freedoms are thrilled to welcome 11-time Grand Slam women's and mixed doubles champion and Philly native Lisa Raymond to our front office staff as Director of Player Personnel.

Lisa assisted Team Owner Billie Jean King and General Manager Barbara Perry in scouting and selecting players to add to the team during Tuesday's 2014 World Team tennis Roster Draft in Indian Wells, California. Still a top current player on the pro tour as well as a Mylan World TeamTennis mainstay, Lisa is uniquely qualified to contribute to advance scouting for her hometown Freedoms.

As long-time fans know, Lisa is no stranger to the Freedoms as she played for the team in 2001, 2004 through 2009, and again in 2011. Lisa and her teammates led the Freedoms to the Mylan World TeamTennis Championship in 2006 while she was concurrently ranked as the #1 doubles player in the world.

She also has a winning history with returning Freedoms doubles great Liezel Huber; the pair won the 2011 US Open women's doubles championship and went on to win that year's WTA year-end championship as well.
