Litchfield Distillery Fills 500 th Barrel 
Litchfield Distillery, after a little more than two-and-a-half years in business, recently celebrated the filling of its 500th barrel of bourbon, distilled 100 percent on site in the Litchfield, Connecticut operation. (New Milford Spectrum) 
Savannah Spirits Group Set to Open Rum Distillery in March
A rum distillery in the heart of historic Savannah is set to open next spring. Savannah Spirits Group announced last week it will be opening a 12,000-square-foot distillery in the city’s historic district. Production is anticipated to begin in March 2018. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
Treaty Oak Distillery Opens Texas-Inspired Restaurant
Treaty Oak Brewing and Distilling opened a new restaurant as part of its sprawling Dripping Springs property, Ghost Hill. It’ll serve a Texas-inspired menu for lunch, dinner, and brunch. (Eater Austin)
New Distillery Rises on Grounds of Historic Fort Worth Country Club
The official address for Whiskey Ranch is so new that it didn’t show up on a recent Google Maps search. But there’s a lot of history surrounding the property, which will be the home of a new Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. facility that is nearing completion after a long road to becoming a reality. Kentucky's Barrel House Distillery Opens Tavern
Barrel House Distillery has opened a bar: Elkhorn Tavern, a full cocktail bar that came to fruition after the passage of legislation in 2016 to allow distilleries to sell liquor by the drink. The distillery is on the Pepper campus, one of the hottest entertainment districts in Lexington, Ky. (Lexington Herald-Leader)
Central Standard Expands in Up-and-Coming Milwaukee Neighborhood
It seemed like a natural fit when Central Standard Craft Distillery Co. launched three years ago in Milwaukee's Walker's Point neighborhood. However, the company quickly outgrew its distillery, which doubles as a tasting room. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
Salute American Vodka Partners with Burke Distributing
Salute American Vodka, an award-winning craft vodka company, has announced a new partnership with Burke Distributing Corp., a family-owned full-service beverage distributor based in Randolph, Mass.
Last Call for Early Bird Rate for ACSA Spirits Competition
The are only two days left to qualify for the Early Bird entry rate for the American Craft Spirits Association's annual judging competition. Enter by Sept. 30 for the Early Bird rate of $200 per spirit for ACSA members and $300 per spirit for non-members. After Sept. 30 the member rate rises to $250 per spirit and the non-member rate increases to $350 per spirit. Judges will convene at District Distilling Co. in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 7 and 8. Winners will be announced during the ACSA Distillers Convention & Vendor Trade Show in Pittsburgh, Pa., March 5-6, 2018.
