Summer Reading Starts This Weekend!
June 1 - August 17
May 30,  2014

Summer is just around the corner and your public library is THE place to be! Our annual Summer Reading Program begins June 1 and runs through August 16. This year's theme for our summer program is "Fizz, Boom, Read!" so we're challenging young readers to explore the fascinating world of science

Children are naturally curious, and we have books on just about any scientific topic they might want to explore: from robots and electricity to volcanoes and gravity. If your children are more into other book genres, that's okay! They can read anything or even be read to and it still counts for our Summer Reading Program.

And while our reading program is for children and teens, there's no reason why the rest of us can't set personal goals this summer to read more. As with our Summer Reading Program it doesn't matter what you read - a library book, magazine, newspaper. If you prefer your reading content in a digital format, check out our great selection of ebooks and magazines available through our website. Whatever your interests, we have something for everyone at Live Oak Public Libraries!

As always, our library branch calendars are packed this

summer with some super creative programs. Several of our

favorite performers are returning (Michael P. White, Sean Driscoll, Fiddlin' Dan) and we have a couple of new guests

(the Magic Man and Mad Science). Our Thunderbolt Library welcomes Savannah State University students and faculty

who will present a fun science program every Wed.

at 2:30 p.m.

So enjoy your summer and keep on reading!
