Dig into Reading, this year's Summer Reading Program, was a huge hit!  Congratulations to all the children who read their way through summer. A total of 299,632 books were checked out as part of our Summer Reading Program this year and children reported reading a total of 58,590!  To keep up this momentum, September is library card sign-up month.  If you don't have a library card, or you know someone who doesn't have a card, this is the perfect month to get a card because all cardholders are eligible for exclusive offers during September. 



And one of our newest, and coolest, services is only available if you have a library card (or visit a library!). is an online product for students in first grade through college as well as adults who are continuing their education. With, you logo can connect to real, live tutors from 3:00 p.m. -  

10 p.m. daily using your computer, smartphone or tablet. You'll have access to more than 2,000 certified tutors who are teachers, college professors and professional tutors from across the U.S., all with proven subject experience in their fields.


 So if you're not sure about a math equation, can't quite work out the science question, need grammar help, or are goiing back to school for a GED, check out

Featured Author
Savannah Children's Book Festival

Jim McMullan will be one of the featured guests at this year's Savannah Children's Book Festival set for Nov. 16. He is the illustrator of many award-winning children's books including "I Stink!" and "I'm Dirty," written by his wife, Kate McMullan.

He is an internationally acclaimed artist, and his painting of a Brooklyn disco published in New York magazine became the visual inspiration for the movie "Saturday Night Fever".
