Livingston and Nicoll crowned Canadian Champion at the first Snowcrown

(Calgary, AB, march 17th 2012) The Snowcrown – Canadian Freestyle Snowboarding Championships sanctioned by Canada~Snowboard presented by 365 sports was set to take place yesterday at Canada Olympic Park, Calgary and the Halfpipe was the first discipline to take place during the event with a strong field of contestants in attendance.

Veteran and two times Olympian, Mercedes Nicoll from Whistler, BC came out victorious last night throwing down the most technical run of the night for a 86.5 good for the gold medal and her fourth National Champion title. Nicoll had Canada’s best result at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic with 6th place.

Katie Tsuyuki from Squamish, BC finished second with a 73.5 and other National Team athletes, Calynn Irwin from Toronto, ON third with 69.75.

On the mens side, Shreducations Derek Livingston.. the hottest Canadian up and comer from Aurora, ON, won his first Canadian Championship title with a score of 93.25. Matt Wallace from Calgary, AB came second with an 86.75 and Crispin Lipscomb from Ottawa, ON, made his return to competition with a score of 81.00 good for third place.

Livingston et Nicoll couronné Champion Canadien au Snowcrown

(Calgary, AB, 17 mars 2012) Le «Snowcrown - Les Championnats Canadiensde Snowboard freestyle» étaient présentés hier au Parc Olympique Canadien à Calgary et le halfpipe était la première discipline présentée.
Mercedes Nicoll de Whistler, CB, est ressortie victorieuse hier soir avec la descente la plus technique de la compétition inscrivant un pointage de 86.5 lui donnant la médaille d’or et son quatrième titre de Championne canadienne. Nicoll a été la meilleure représente canadienne aux Jeux olympiques de Vancouver en 2010 en terminant 6ieme.

Katie Tsuyuki de Squamsh, BC, a terminé au deuxième rang avec un pointage de 73.5 et Calynn Irwin d’Ottawa, ON, a inscrit un pointage de 69.75, bon pour la troisième place.

Du côté des hommes, Derek Livingston d’Aurora, ON, de shreducation est le meilleur espoir canadien en Halfpipe et a remporté son premier championnat canadien avec un pointage de 93.25. Matt Wallace de Calgary, AB a terminé deuxième inscrivant un pointage de 86.75 et Crispin Lipscomb d’Ottawa, ON, a effectué un retour à la compétition avec un pointage de 81.00 bon pour la troisième place.
