Current Events

Parenting Conference

August 13th, 20th & 27th

5:30 - 7:00 pm

Our children can grow up smart, athletic, popular and polite but lack a vibrant relationship with Christ. The few hours they spend in church each week can be helpful, but it cannot nurture a faith in our kids that will withstand the trials that are on the horizon. Church alone cannot teach them, we must start at home. But many parents feel ill equipped to develop the faith of their children.

Join us as we explore biblical and tangible ways that parents, couples, single parents, blended families, and grandparents can build a legacy of faith for their children.

The conference will be held at Gathering Church from 5:30 - 7:00, August 13th, 20th and 27th. Childcare will be provided.

Spotlights

Missions Moments Volunteer of the Week

Jim and Caleb Sinn, of Eurasia Partners, recently returned from Albania where they assisted three different churches with community and youth programs. Jim and Caleb are a father/son team that ministered and evangelized to local students, sharing their testimonies which resulted in 13 youth committing their lives to Christ!

Gathering Church prayerfully and financially supports Jim and Eurasia Partners and we are encouraged to hear amazing reports of how God is using them to impact Albania and surrounding countries!

You will have the opportunity to learn more about Eurasia Partners from it's founder and Gathering Church friend, Rick Amos, at a lunch on August 27th after services.

Josiah Lane serves in various capacities at the church, including but certainly not limited to, kid's church and the offering/ushering team. Josiah is originally from North Carolina and he and his wife, Natalie, have been attending the Gathering for three years. He currently works for the Air Force in communications. Josiah and Natalie faithfully attend a small group and work with the children monthly on Sunday mornings. Josiah says he loves serving in the children's ministry because "...every week that I get to teach with them I see them understanding core theological concepts and I learn first-hand why Jesus said "let the children come to me" because he knew their hearts were ready for Him!"

Church Life News

On Sunday, it was announced that The Gathering has hired a new Worship Director, Adam Novak.

Adam, a Florida native, grew up in Auburndale. He was called to vocational ministry his freshman year of college at Warner University. As a second generation worship leader, he has been involved with worship in some capacity since age 12 and has been leading since he was 16. Adam and his wife Bree met in 2012 while serving in Warner's chapel band. They've been happily married since October 2015. Aside from worship, Adam has a passion for all things baseball. He also enjoys reading and good conversation over a cup of coffee. Adam and Bree are both excited to worship alongside you and look forward to joining The Gathering family.
