Slow Food Philadelphia

Slow Food is a non-profit member supported International movement, founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people's dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.

Greetings!

Thanks to your generosity, Slow Food Philly donated $250 to the Walk + Run that will benefit the region's leading hunger-relief agencies, including the Coalition Against Hunger, The Food Trust, SHARE and Philabundance.  Philadelphia's First Congressional District has one of the highest hunger rates in the country.  We ask that you please consider donating by going to www.hungercoalition.org.

Our friends over at Fair Food reminded us that we had omitted their ultimate food directory which lists Farmer's Markets in your area, CSA's, and a whole lot more.  In case you have not picked up a copy of their directory at their stand in the Reading Terminal, you can always visit Grid Magazine and find the digital version.
