Educational Seminar on ADHD
On February 21st from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM Appleseed is offering a free community education presentation about ADHD. The focus of the talk will be on not only recognizing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) but also some of the best and effective non-medication ways to manage it. This is the next seminar in a new series that Appleseed Community Health Center is offering to the community.
On March 15 at Ashland University Convocation Center there will be a free dinner and educational forum on the integration of physical and mental health care. The forum is sponsored by Ashland University, University Hospital/Samaritan and the Mental Health and Recovery Board. A focus of the discussion will be on the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACE) and how it can inform and improve healthcare policy and practice across disciplines and organizations.
Dr. Kathy Platoni a clinical psychologist and retired Army Colonel will provide 2 seminars on the diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Responding to veterans in Crisis. There are each 2 hours long and will take place March 30th. There is no cost to attend thanks to the generous support of the Samaritan Hospital Foundation. CEU's will be available for counselors and social workers.
