Horseshoe Pits, Greenbelts, Bayou Contours
|
I know everyone is excited about our development objectives and I can tell by the inquiries that it's time for an update. While I'm leading off the letter with construction details, rest assured catching and killing or releasing anything that swims, flies, crawls, or walks will always be our top priority. Since we've got that down to a science with over 20 years at it, I thought you'd allow a focus on our new creature comforts.
Update
As I write this newsletter we've got an army of contractors arriving here at the lodge to get us moving "vertically" on all of the pavilions as well as the concrete crew whose forming up the new Entertainment & Dining Facility. We've poured the slab for the new bayou quarters building and it will begin going vertical on February 8th. The grounds and greenbelts are much further advanced since we've been battling the bayou beast and taming it since September.
Massive Greenbelts, Backdrops, & Shoes
We've got 4 Horseshoe Pits up and running which will will accommodate 16 guests playing with covered & lighted Washer's & Corn-Hole gaming areas immediately adjacent. All of this is overlooking the bayou and we've got them "in the nuts". The bayou property is special with nearly 500' of bayou frontage and nearly 3 miles of protected Kayak Trails; a Helistop has also been implemented with Hover-Taxi parking for 3 Helicopters. We are also building a massive fireplace cut into the face of the bayou slope next to our largest covered area and we think it's going to get a lot of use!
Pace & Grand Opening Goals
Construction has been moving at lightning speed by Seadrift standards or really any standard you could apply. We are ahead of schedule and are targeting April 1st as a Grand Opening opportunity. We'll have to do some hard work to get there but we think it's "doable"!
Footprint, Re-thinking Castaway Lodge Capabilities
With our capacity swelling to a maximum of 40 guests; we'll have the indoor dining facilities/conference area which will be capable of keeping guests entertained late into the night if so desired in the air conditioned comfort needed when the mosquito's are thick or the weather isn't cooperating for outdoor enjoyment. Too awesome! We know you've loved our existing operation with all of it's shortcomings and obsolescence typical of a family owned enterprise coming up out of the ground. Now, we're dragging that stuff out and killing it "friction point by friction point".
