Girls Night Out
Wednesday, May 16, 7 p.m.
Lomond School PTO and School Nurse Exum invite fourth grade girls and their parent/caregiver who may have missed the April event due to the Woodbury Open House to participate in this make up Girls' Night Out. Children must be accompanied by an adult - a parent, other adult relative or family friend. A trusted adult with whom the student is comfortable is key as discussions during this event can often be sensitive and awkward for students.
This program will be fun and informative as we share this exciting time in your student's life. If you have been wondering how to start the conversation with your child about the changes that occur with adolescence, this event is for you. Watch for a flyer coming home next week via backpack!

May 18
1-3 p.m.
Laps for Lomond,
the annual healthy, school-spirited FUNdraiser is fast approaching. Money raised helps the PTO support teacher grants, school-wide assemblies, artist-in-residence programs, a children’s orchestra, and many more educational, cultural and community-based Lomond School events.
This festive event includes all students, their family members, teachers and administrators. Families and supportive staff cheer on students and their teachers as they run, walk, skip or jog laps around a grass course at Lomond, while enjoying great music. In the weeks leading up to the event, the physical education teachers spend time preparing students to ensure everyone has a rewarding experience.
Students also spend the weeks leading up to the event collecting donations from family members, neighbors and community members to help offset the event cost and to help the PTO raise money for future school programs. Students receive a Lomond-themed award after the event as a positive reminder of their contribution to the school. We love to see their pride as they wear something they have earned.
Event Highlights:
- SHOE WALL- Starting in April, students can earn a shoe to hang in the gym.
- RAFFLE BASKETS - A $10 donation earns students a raffle ticket.
- SHOUT OUT - Buy a $1 shout out for a quick word of encouragement to your child the week of “Laps for Lomond”.
- School wide POPSICLE PARTY! When we reach our school donation goal of $2,000.
How Can You Help?
- Email Amy Nieman to help volunteer prior to the event.
- If you are a small local business please consider a financial or service (for the raffle) business donation.
- Look for announcements in the Friday email and backpack mail.
- Help your child get donations. Look for PayForIt donation site in following announcements. Start a Laps for Lomond Jar in your house!
- Start walking and running with your child in preparation for the event.
