July 23, 2018 – Promising Pages’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Eric Law has joined the organization as President. In this new role, Eric will lead Promising Pages’ operations team, developing new platforms, tools, and processes to drive the organization’s growth, as well as continuing to ensure program excellence.
”We are thrilled that Eric is joining the Promising Pages’ team,” said Ed Rosenblatt, co-interim Board Chair. “Eric is a highly respected nonprofit leader, and with his significant background and experience, we are poised for tremendous growth as we strive to eradicate Charlotte’s book desert.”
In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, Eric will partner closely with Kristina Cruise, Promising Pages’ Founder and CEO, supporting her development and advocacy efforts to grow the organization. “Eric has been one of our steadfast partners, supporters, and overall advocates since the launch of Promising Pages, when it was operating out of my garage,” said Kristina. “It is incredible to see our relationship come full circle as we embark together on this next phase of growth and change.”
Eric is well-known in Charlotte’s education and non-profit communities with nearly 30 years of experience. Eric served as Executive Director for Hands On Charlotte prior to its merger with United Way of Central Carolinas in 2017. He also has worked in development and donor services leadership positions with Classroom Central and Foundation for the Carolinas. He began his career in education at Johnson C. Smith University as an Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages.
Eric joins Promising Pages during an exciting time. During our seven years of operating as a nonprofit organization, we have upcycled more than 500,000 books to underserved children in the greater Charlotte area. These books are redistributed both through our unique programs – Bookworm Bootcamp and Books on Break – designed to create an excitement for books and a love of reading, as well as through our more than 30 partnerships with other nonprofit organizations.
As we move into this next phase of growth, the Promising Pages team is more focused than ever on providing books to the estimated 60,000 children across the Charlotte area growing up with few, if any, books of their own.
