About 600 senior adults are expected to attend. Let's get together to help clean up Hannibal! Meet any time 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22 at Y'men's Pavilion, 105 Hill St. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Shine a Light on Autism Lighthouse Challenge
Starting at 8 a.m. April 29 at the Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse Steps
Climbers in the competitive division start at 8 a.m. Non-competitive division starts at 9 a.m., all ages welcome! There will be children's activities as well, including bounce house, games, face painting and snacks. Local entertainment from the Sparkle Squad will be provided, as well as information/registration with the STARS program. Registration available here.

  • Summer Sand Volleyball League Starts May 16 at Southside Sand Courts, sponsored by Hannibal YMCA. Registration due April 28. Co-ed recreation league on Tuesdays, co-ed competitive league on Wednesdays. More information at  YMCA web page.
  • Storybook Trail May 1-11 at Central Park. Read the pages of “Giggle, Giggle, Quack” along the trail. Free and Fun. Sponsored by Hannibal Parks & Recreation and Park Place Sign Systems Inc. 
  • Fun Glow Run through Sodalis Nature Preserve, 7 p.m. Friday May 12, starting on South Main Street. Sponsored by Holy Family School To register, contact Cherrie Allen, [email protected]
  • Nature Walk in Riverview Park 10 a.m. May 17 starting at Shelter No. 2, the first overlook at Riverview Park. Learn about the trees, plants and wildlife Hannibal’s biggest park. Walk will be easy to moderate terrain. Guided by nature educator Gale Rublee. Free but reservations must be made by calling Hannibal Parks & Recreation at 221-0154 or emailing [email protected]
  • Night Hike Through Sodalis Nature Preserve 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 26. Meet at parking lot of Sodalis Nature Preserve. Hike up to the bat caves, exploring nature signs along the way. Pause for a story at the top then return in the dark with sensory awareness activities. Hike will be on paved paths, about 2 miles. Free but reservations must be made by calling Hannibal Parks & Recreation at 221-0154 or emailing [email protected]
  • Down by the River at Y’Men’s Pavilion 6 to 10 p.m. May 19 with Madd Hoss Jackson
  • EMSSTRONG 5K through Sodalis Nature Preserve 8:30 a.m. May 27 starting at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. To register, contact [email protected]
  • Opening Day at Hannibal Aquatic Center, Noon May 27 at Hannibal Aquatic Center, Hours: Noon to 6 p.m. every day. Sign up now at City Hall for swim lessons, first session begins June 12.
  • Cornhole Tournament May 27 at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center, sponsored by Hannibal Professional Firefighters Local 1211. Preregistration through May 26. Call Danny Essig 573-406-7173 for more information   
  • Honor Roll Day May 28 at Hannibal Aquatic Center. Students going into fourth grade through high school must bring a report card showing a B average and up to receive free admission

It's time to Get Into Shape at our new Fitness Station at the west end of Bear Creek Trail.
The station features 24 exercises and combines functional fitness and body-weight training on three skill levels.

Walk to better health! Join the Hannibal Walking Club! It's a fun, free way to keep track of your miles ....

Huckleberry Park
As construction at the Huckleberry Park shelter goes on, the playground is still open. 
The Born Learning Trail is an interactive series of 10 outdoor games around Huckleberry Park playground.  There are several new pieces of all-inclusive playground equipment, including two handicap-accessible swings and musical instruments at Huckleberry Park playground.
