Kathy Kavanagh - Pottery

After throwing pots for some years, Kathy gave her wheel away to concentrate on hand-building, which she finds freer and more gratifying. Nature is the driving theme in Kahoka clay work. She uses numerous natural materials, such as leaves, pine needles, and chunks of wood in the creation of her handbuilt pottery.

Coffman Loom Available

The Lost River Educational Foundation Museum has several looms and is willing to sell or lend one of them, the Coffman Loom.

Ownership of the loom can be traced back to Joseph Weaver Coffman (1857-1966) and his wife, Sarah Heatwole Coffman (1859-1958) in Rockingham County, Virginia.

The loom is in working condition. Several fabrics made on the loom are on display in the co-op.
