ESLC is pleased to announce Maryland Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will give opening remarks at our 13th Annual Planning Conference: The Rural Jobs Summit, to be held Friday, June 8, at the Tidewater Inn in Easton, Maryland.
The Lt. Governor has dedicated his professional life to public service. Elected alongside Governor Martin O'Malley in 2006 and reelected in 2010, Lt. Governor Brown leads the O'Malley-Brown administration's work to expand and improve health care, support economic development, help victims of domestic violence, increase access to higher education, and provide Veterans with better services and resources.
Lt. Governor Brown, a former Prince George's County Delegate and House Majority Whip, is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. A Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, Anthony Brown is the nation's highest-ranking elected official to have served a tour of duty in Iraq.
We are honored to have the Lt. Governor's remarks at the Rural Jobs Summit, and we welcome his participation in helping to shape and implement actions that will strengthen our rural landscapes.
The Rural Jobs Summit will draw together community leaders, elected officials, planners, designers, entrepreneurs and farmers from around the region to discuss and envision the economic landscape of the Eastern Shore, Delmarva and rural areas throughout the region.
Conference attendees will engage in workshops with their peers and colleagues to learn more about diversification and shifts in the agricultural economy; methods for anchoring towns in working landscapes; and the legislative and regional policy tools needed to enable the economic future that is possible for the region.
Attendees will work together to articulate an agenda for sustainable prosperity for the Eastern Shore.
Please register today. Visit eslc.org for details about keynote speakers, the location, and the agenda.
