Awards for Achievements in 2016
As we near the end of 2016, the Lethbridge Sport Council is preparing to recognize the outstanding achievments of local athletes in 2016.   Nominations will close January 31st, 2017.  Categories include:  Athletic Performance (junior, senior, master, athlete with a disability, Special Olympic, team and partner), Sport Excellence (coaching, officiating, volunteering), Leadership (individual and organization), Spirit in Sport (youth and adult), Corporate (business and sport)
Lunch with an Olympian
If you are a youth between the ages of 13-17 you are invited to enter to win a seat at the table for yourself and a friend.
Thanks to a donation from Allan Friesen of the Silverberg Group, 6 youths will have the opportunity to have lunch with and learn from Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Ashley Steacy.

Aspiring Writer?
The Lethbridge Sport Council is currently accepting applications via the SCiP program for a writer to assist with an upcoming project.  If you are a post-secondary student interested in applying for this internship valued at $1000, please see the posting on the SCiP website.

NCCP Module 'Managing Conflict'
The Lethbridge Sport Council, in partnership with the Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest is offering the NCCP coach training module "Managing Conflict" on Saturday December 3rd in Lethbridge.  Deadline to register is November 28th.
DANCEPL3Y Kids Instructor Course
Learn how to teach the world's most innovative and playful dance program - get certified and bring DANCEPL3Y to Kids at your local dance studio, fitness club, or community recreation centre! The DANCEPL3Y Kids Instructor Course is on Saturday, January 21 & Sunday, January 22, 2017

2017 Rugby Prep
The 2017 Rugby Prep program is designed to deliver technical, tactical and sport science support to female rugby players ages 15 to 18. Camp coaches included 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Ashley Steacy, Pronghorns Rugby head coach Ric Suggitt and U Sports rugby players

Move & Play AT RECESS
This resource (developed by Be Fit for Life and University of Calgary) can be used to supplement activities in the classroom, quality physical education, and in conjunction with games enjoyed during free play

KidSportâ„¢ Elite Performance Grant
The KidSport Elite Performance Grant was created to provide financial assistance to athletes in Alberta who have been recognized at a provincial or national team level.
Funding is for athletes from low-income families facing financial barriers who are participating in a provincial or national team program. Athletes must be 18 years or under and must be identified by their sport organization to a provincial or national training program and/or team in Alberta.

Lethbridge Inclusion Awards
The 2nd annual Lethbridge Inclusion Awards will be held December 1st at CASA! The Lethbridge Inclusion Awards is an initiative of the local International Day of Persons with Disabilities committee. These awards will highlight the individuals, businesses and groups that break barriers to create a more open and accepting community for those with disabilities. 
Lethbridge Sport Council congratulations Mary Dyck,  as the recipient of the Community Compassion award for making a substantial difference for inclusive sport in Lethbridge and beyond.
