For 30 years the New York State League of Women Voters has

advocated for:

1) lowering contribution limits to candidates

2) strict enforcement of laws by the State Board of Elections and

3) limits on contributions to: housekeeping accounts" to political parties.

 

Hear our featured speaker, Barbara Bartoletti, League of Women Voters of New York Legislative Director and Special Assistant to The Moreland' Commission, answer questions about the Moreland Report and the role of the League in the current legislative session.

 

Barbara Bartoletti has been a member of the State League since 1978 and the Legislative Director since l988. She oversees all legislation of interest to the League in the state legislature.  Ms. Bartoletti travels statewide in advocacy issues and topics such as informed and active participation in government. Barbara has also worked extensively in central Asia, Russia and Armenia and currently sits on the Federal Election Assistance Commission in Washington, DC.

 

Governor Cuomo, in his State of the State address, said that campaign finance
reform is needed for people to trust their government again.
