I am delighted to welcome you to
the inaugural edition of Lundgren Management Corporation's
Industry Connector.

This year, we celebrate Lundgren's 25th anniversary. As we mark this outstanding milestone, we take great pride in all that we've accomplished as a team of dedicated professionals. Lundgren's commitment to quality is evident in the many successful projects we have completed across Southern California. Such achievements exceed the high goals we set for ourselves when we first began, and we are deeply grateful to our clients for their years of loyalty and friendship.

Industry Connector will provide you with up-to-date information on our latest endeavors. From modernization of existing buildings to new construction, we are involved with some exciting projects throughout Southern California.

 

There are a number of tools at our fingertips when it comes to working efficiently and excellently. Among those is the role of Building Integration Modeling (BIM). Using digital, 3-D modeling, it creates a collaborative environment that requires early stakeholder involvement, from the project owner and construction manager, to the architect, engineers and contractors. As your construction manager, it is always our goal to eliminate any potential issues and streamline the building process. Using tools such as BIM allow us to catch potential conflicts during the design and review phase. The earlier we can identify, coordinate and correct conflicts, the less of an impact these issues will have on our clients' projects as it relates to cost and schedule.

 

As Election Day draws near, there are on the ballot more than $14 billion in local school bond measures for voters to decide on. We wish these school districts and associated staff the best of luck in securing these much-needed funds that will help them in continuing to maintain excellent facilities and education for the next generation of voters.

La Sierra/La Vista Continuation High School
 

Lundgren Management proudly served as the Construction Manager of the new La Sierra/La Vista Continuation High School. Located in Fullerton, California, the project is a mark of building excellence for the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. Two high schools share a four-acre campus and six state-of-the-art buildings, which connect by roofs and balconies. Designed by architects Ruhnau, Ruhnau, Clark and totaling some 59,000 square feet, the buildings include state-of-the art Administration offices; a Library; Art and Technology, Science, TAPP, and General classrooms; Student Services; Child Care; and Food Services.

 

The surrounding campus was also rejuvenated with new paving, concrete flatwork, storm drainage, utility systems, landscaping, site lighting, trash enclosure, basketball courts, two central courtyards, and offsite work that includes new street lighting.

College of the Canyons

 
Lundgren Management constructed a facility that is truly first of its kind in California. The 110,000 square foot, high technology Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, located on the Valencia campus of College of the Canyons, is a place where many four-year universities converge, affording opportunities for Santa Clarita Valley community members to earn their bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. The new University Center, situated on the campus' southwest corner comprises 23 "smart" classrooms, two computer laboratories, six meeting/seminar rooms, and a lecture hall/theater. The building is wireless, and videoconferencing capability is available throughout. Leo A. Daly was the design architect, Flewelling & Moody was the project architect and KBZ was the tenant improvements architect.
 

 

LAUSD Valley Regional Middle School #3


 

What was once an undeveloped section of property used by the Department of Water and Power has been transformed into facilities for the freshman class of John H. Francis Polytechnic High School, with Lundgren Management serving as the construction manager for the Los Angeles Unified School District's project, dubbed Valley Regional Middle School #3.

 

Designed by Thomas Blurock Architects and located just off the Hollywood Freeway in Sun Valley, the 9-acre, 105,000-square-foot site took shape over the course of 22 months. While the scope of the project changed over its course, construction was completed according to schedule.


The final project includes two classroom buildings, a multipurpose building, an administrative center, a library and an indoor/outdoor amphitheater. The classroom buildings each feature 19 classrooms and two labs. Athletic facilities include a soccer field, track and five basketball courts. A future pedestrian bridge over Arleta Avenue will provide safe access to adjacent LAUSD campuses. The site will serve both the high school and adult education programs.

 

Santa Barbara City College Arts & Humanities Building

  

Lundgren Management is proud to join Santa Barbara City College in its ongoing modernization efforts, as the construction manager for upgrades to the school's Arts and Humanities building.

 

We are about two months into the 14-month project, which is focusing largely on bringing the building into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. An elevator tower is being added to the building, in addition to changing doors and hardware, adding new restrooms and upgrading ramps. The building dates to the early 1970s, and the work being done will bring it up to current standards. DLR Group is the project architect.
 

 

This project is Lundgren's first with Santa Barbara City College, which is midway through modernizing its campus, with future plans including both new construction and modernization to existing buildings.
