We are pleased to welcome the Guyards (left) to Lycée Louis Pasteur's family.
Virginie, Willy and their daughter Lylie (a new Lycée student) come to us from Minnetonka, Minnesota. Virginie previously taught at the French American School of Minneapolis while Willy taught at a public international junior high school.
The Guyard family fell in love with Alberta after participating in a home exchange with a family from High River a few years ago.
Virginie is a
elementary teacher,
certified by the French Ministry of Education and has taught various primary levels in France; in Jura close to Switzerland, and overseas in Mayotte. She is bilingual, passionate about multiculturalism, and specializes in teaching French as a foreign language. Virginie is excited to be teaching Grade 4 this year, and looks forward to incorporating various educational methods into her classroom routine, such as the Daily Five that her students began using last year in English Language Arts.
Willy, who is also certified by the French Ministry of Education, will be teaching French as a Second Language (FSL) this year. Equally passionate about bilingualism and multiculturalism, Willy will work closely with our FSL students.
The Guyard family enjoys spending their free time together outdoors. They look forward to exploring Alberta's Rocky Mountains and British Columbia's coast this year. Please join us in giving them a warm Lycée welcome.
