(LYNNWOOD, WA) The Lynnwood Convention Center will host an Artist Reception on Thursday, February 12th from 6-8 p.m. 

The event is free to the public and features complimentary hors d'oeuvres and refreshments along with no host beer and wine. The reception begins with a brief program where each artist talks about their work and inspiration.

Featured artists for the exhibit include:

Nicole Brauch "My work is derived from personal history- either told or uncovered. I document the memories of people, things and moments that continue to resonate in my life."

Alicia Hatfield "My work revolves around childhood as it relates to themes of security and vulnerability."

Fran Holt "I propose that happiness and energy are contagious; that being in a room filled wall to wall with bright color and swirling motion positively influences any person who enters that room."

Laura Kraft "Much of my current print work explores the ambiguous relationship between positive and negative space, foreground and background, which can create movement (rotation, flipping) as the viewer's eye seeks to resolve the composition. In this way, the work invites viewers to participate."

Christopher Kroehler "Each of my paintings tells a story. They play at form, color and image; experiments of expression which read beneath the surface."

Jennifer Arlem Molina "Using the camera as my brush, I stage, perform, and visually capture images that express and inspire beauty within isolated moments."

Peggy Murphy "Over the past few years I have been interested in depicting some sense of the garden.The concept of "garden" encompasses the idea of participation- we shape the garden. We dig, we cut , we do hundreds of repetitive tasks."

Claire Putney "My work explores the relationship between human experience and topographical landscapes. Together, they form an intriguing geography that gives evidence to one's physical and emotional relationship with a place."

These works have been generously loaned to the Lynnwood Convention Center by local Snohomish and King County artists and will be on display through the spring and summer.The artwork is changed twice a year.
