(LYNNWOOD, WA) The Lynnwood Convention Center and the Schack Art Center are excited to announce a new partnership. The Schack Art Center will be facilitating the public artwork curation at the Lynnwood Convention Center starting with the upcoming art installation this July.
Founded more than 38 years ago as the Arts Council of Snohomish County, the Schack Art Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and celebrating the arts for the enhancement of community life. Today the Schack Art Center is the place to look at, learn about, and create art in our region in their Everett venue, as well as through local area exhibits.
"Curating exhibits for the Lynnwood Convention Center is an exciting opportunity for the Schack to reach out to south Snohomish County and showcase even more talented artists from our region," said Carie Collver, Schack Art Center Gallery Director.
The Lynnwood Convention Center displays artwork from local artists throughout its building. The exhibitions are rotated twice a year and with each installation there is an Artist Reception where the artists themselves can talk about their work and answer questions from the public. The mediums vary from painting, photography, and mixed media to contemporary quilting.
"Working with the Schack Art Center - formerly known as the Arts Council of Snohomish County - further cements the role of the Lynnwood Convention Center as a regional facility. This partnership will result in expanded public opportunity to see and experience art in Snohomish County," said Grant Dull, Lynnwood Public Facilities Director.
A public Artist Reception will be held on September 22nd to showcase the artwork displayed in the building and invite artists to speak about their works. The art can also be viewed during regular business hours, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday- Friday.
