Thank you to everyone who attended "An Insight into the Judiciary and Strategies for Advancing Diversity in the Bench" a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court event hosted by MAHA & HNBA. We are especially grateful to our esteemed panelists - Lon Povich, Sharon Shelfer Casey, Zoila Gomez, Chief Justice Angela Ordoñez, Chief Justice Roberto Ronquillo, Jr., and the Hon. La Asociación de Abogados de Massachusetts ha lanzado un nuevo episodio de podcast de MassBar Beat en Inglés y Español que analiza los recursos de idiomas para personas que no hablan Ingles y necesitan un abogado ó necesitan ir a la corte con un intérprete.

La anfitriona, Iliana Burton, habla con la abogada Melissa A. Juárez sobre los recursos multilingües ofrecidos por el Servicio de Referencia de Abogados de la Asociación de Abogados de Massachusetts, y los servicios de traducción que ofrecen las cortes. También aprenderá sobre algunas ideas nuevas para aumentar el acceso a la justicia en Massachusetts, incluídos Las cortes de drogas en Español.

Ruth Adeyinka and her daughter, Krystal Garcia, attended the "Families Belong Together" rally on June 30 to stand in solidarity with immigrant families separated at the border. Krystal is a student working on her Master degree at Lesley University in Cambridge.

Of the experience, Ruth shared: "For me, this experience was very important because these issues impact and alter the life of immigrants; many of whom are fleeing Latin American countries. As a mother, it was amazing to share in this experience with my daughter!"

Congratulations to Meigan Goff for graduating from New England Law!

"My grandparents were able to fly to Boston from Houston, TX! It was amazing to have them here with me because they have lived in a tiny house in South Houston with just the necessities for decades while raising my mom and aunts to be strong women but never did they think someone in their family would go on to be a lawyer. I was the first in my family to pursue higher education and the first to achieve this milestone. I remember all the times my grandparents encouraged me to overcome any adversity in my life and to do so with kindness to all I would meet. Their advice and support definitely helped me reach this dream. Working to have a successful career and give back to my grandparents means the world to me and it’s part of the reason I fearlessly continue to set bigger and better goals for myself in all my endeavors."

first Wednesday of every month

6:00PM - 8:00PM

at the Boston Bar Association, 16 Beacon Street, Boston MA

All MAHA members are welcome to attend and become engaged in executing an event that empowers our local and legal community.
