MAPS Youth Review February 2015
Salaam!
aH special thanks to all the MAPS Youth volunteers last two Fridays for cleaning the mosque, holding another meeting for a newletter (started by the youth themselves!) & also helping pack 150 sandwiches for the homeless with UMR-UW!! I'm very proud of these guys and gals and may Allah (swat) grant them success in this life and the next, ameen! I'll see you all this FRIDAY at 7pm for our COVERT-SATIONS event!

We will meet at MAPS at 7pm inshAllah, pray maghrib and then continue engage in this incredibly important discussion. We have Dr. Michael Perez and Sam Chesneau confirmed as well as some local youth who will be sharing their stories as well as discussing some challenges they've faced especially within the Muslim community. Please register and come ON TIME so we don't disturb our speakers :)

End of Winter Quarter Dinner
We will review this quarter's activities and look at next quarters plans inshAllah! ...and yes there will be delicious food :D


Backpack Drive with MCRC & Syrian Clothing Drive with Salaam Cultural  Museum
The youth were really busy for this! They packed over 150 bags with non perishable foods and "hello cards" for low income youth in local school districts. They also packed two truck full of bags for the Syrian clothing drive mA!
 
Monthly Discussion: African American Muslims
  We are thankful for Dr. Michael Vicente Perez for enlightening us on the very important topic of Muslim African Americans by talking about their endless contributions and difficult struggles. Truly, one month is not enough to appreciate all that they have done for Americans.. ESPECIALLY American Muslims

Bowling at UW!!
  Our social for this month was visiting the University of Washington and bowling!! We had 3 lanes for bros, 3 lanes for sisters and a lot of good times :)
Mosque Cleanup!!
mA these guys and gals are gaining some massive rewards by cleaning up MAPS! Also a special THANK YOU to our janitors who allowed us to share in on their massive barakah and also for all of their hard work every day of the year
