We've all seen the standard movie studio images that are well known and there are many copies to be had but original vintage studio "file" examples are very difficult to get. Every film studio kept what they called "file copies" in their archives. These were first generation custom prints held as the prime example of all images created by studio photographers. Some of these were held in what were called "key books" which included a chronological sequence of these photographs. Many were double weight linen backed. I have many of the 20th CENTURY FOX file copies and this week I put up one of the most magnificent in my collection. Again, this is not a copy but a vintage original that was held in the Fox archives.
