The MAS Youth halaqas have been taking place weekly, and youth from all over the Kansas City area have been attending and benefiting from them, Alhamdulillah. These halaqas include Quran/Hadith review, spiritual reminders in Imaniyyaat, in addition to the subject of the week. A reminder that there are youth halaqas for brothers as well as for sisters ages 12 & up, both at ISGKC and ICK Masajid. MAS Scouts Update

The national MAS Scouting Department (MSD) is working through the Boy and Girl Scouts of America and has units here in Kansas City too! MSD seeks to provide comprehensive and balanced development to Muslim youth in America, through an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult Muslim Leadership. Both the boy and girl scouts in of MAS-KC have been meeting biweekly and having fun as well as learning, with crafts, outdoor activities, skills/training, and more! See the announcements below for information on registration your children for MAS-KC Scouts next year.
MAS Youth Sports Programs for Brothers & Sisters on a Roll!

So far this year, MAS Youth has held several sports tournaments for the youth brothers, and sometimes included the adults as well! At the beginning of the year, the brothers had a "Youth vs Men" volleyball tournament for the second time, and it was intense! The brothers also had a half-day basketball tournament for the youth, which was excellent and capped off with the championship game. The brothers announced and opened up registration for the upcoming MFL (Muslim Flag Football League), and registration closed on March 30th. The MFL has started its weekly games this past Sunday, April 7th, and will be continuing almost every Sunday on the ISGKC field during April and May, ending with the playoffs, Insha'Allah!

The Youth Sisters Sports program also got rolling this year, with a different sport every last Wednesday of the month during the usual halaqa time at the ISGKC gym. January was volleyball month, February was basketball month, and March was kickball month! The sisters' sports nights are free and open to all youth sisters ages 12 and older! Mark the date for Wednesday, April 24th - the sport of the month to be announced!
Qiyam Night Held at ICK

MAS Youth held a night of Qiyam in February at ICK, led by Sheikh Mahmoud Talal. Alhamdulillah, it was a peaceful night of prayer and khatirah reminders. MAS will be holding a Qiyam for youth and adults about every two months or so for the community. The next one is scheduled for May 3rd, so stay on the lookout for more specific details/location information!
