Showing at the Denver Film Festival ( Denver premiere ) Nov 4 and 5 2016

Maggie Siff (Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy ) stars as Anna Baskin, an Emmy-winning actress whose offstage life has virtually been erased by that of her television character. Held back by a role she no longer wants and harboring a Ritalin addiction, she puts her career on hold and returns to Brooklyn, where she got her start, to find herself. But upon reuniting with members of her old theater troupe, she discovers that they've had turning points of their own on the long, hard road of adulthood.

Saul Levine will be presented with the 2016 Stan Brakhage Vision Award
Denver Film Festival Nov 6, 2016 at the the Sie Film Center in Denver.

An Evening with Saul Levine

Preeminent film historian P. Adams Sitney-author of  the foundational textbook  Visionary Film  and 2010 recipient of our Vision Award-has called Saul Levine "one of the most underrated filmmakers in the American avant-garde cinema." Since the mid-1960s, Levine has been creating a body of work that is by turns lyrical, poetic, autobiographical and political. His eclectic oeuvre gives the viewer a vivid feeling for the turbulence of daily life in urban America over the past four decades; it has been shown throughout the world, from Ontario to Lima to Prague to, most recently, the Museum of Modern Art in New York (among other places).

Saul's films will also be shown and the award will be presented by F/V alum Phil Soloman

Traces of Wind and Water
Two-channel, site-specific video installation on existing architecture

Georgie was selected  for the City of Boston's first artist-in-residence program, Boston AIR.

"In this series of video installations, I digitally reframe natural elements by projecting footage onto existing architecture or sculptural forms in order to draw attention to our natural, built, and digital environments. I am fascinated by the power of these natural phenomena in relationship to human fragility. I work to transform the natural elements' visual properties, scale or positioning, creating a range of representation and abstraction within each piece. I want to highlight our relationships to interior/exterior spaces by altering our typical perceptions of architecture and landscape, and to create new experiences for viewers. By changing the context of the natural world images, the installations become unexpected, contemplative and sometimes overwhelming spaces".

On view nightly: October 13 - November 14, 2016 from dusk to 11pm.* Best seen near the intersection of Columbia Rd and Hancock St Approx. Address: 531 Columbia Rd, Dorchester, MA 02125.

Perfect LeaderMax Almy, 1983
A satire of the political television spot, Perfect Leader shows that ideology is the product and power is the payoff.

(excerpt) Infiltration into the convention of a major American political party. The independent video maker enters the convention very discreetly and within a few minutes reaches the presidential stratum.

For thirty-two years, artists Muntadas and Reese have been compiling a history of presidential campaign spots following the evolution of political advertising from its beginnings in 1952 to the present. Political Advertisement is a personal vision of how politics and politicians are presented through the medium of TV.
