 April General Meeting Review
Unfortunately our speaker Rachel the Realtor had to cancel due to a family emergency.

Our President, Tiffany, stepped up once again and gave a review of her trip down to southern California to attend the Trails & Greenways conference.  She reported that there was so much information to be had and the "classes" were wonderful, that she would love to attend again next year.  The one thing that she learned is of the trend that many counties are recognizing that trails & greenways is something that residents want.  We are familiar with trails, but to explain the difference between the Greenways; greenways is a means for residents to move about the city without the assistance of a vehicle.  It could be walking, cycling and could even include equestrians.
Pioneer Day Parade!

Once again MVTA is planning to be represented in the Pioneer Parade on June 4th!  The invite is out to every single member to come join us in the parade!  Kids, adults, bicycles, pull wagons, hikers, dogs, come and show your support to local trails!  The more the merrier!

MVTA will also have a booth at the park for Pioneer Day Festivities and we are looking for anyone who can man the booth for an hour or so.  The Board Members that plan to attend would like to have a break!  It is fun talking to the public about trails and we always learn something new and meet new people!

Please contact Claudia Booth, 530-637-1682 if you can help at the booth!

Date: Sunday, June 4th
Time:  11:30AM gather for Parade.  Parade @ Noon
Location:  Vicinity of Veterinarians office

What Has the MVTA Board Been Up To?
Just in case you were wondering what the MVTA Board is up to, we thought we'd give you a quick brief.

To promote the survey being collected by Placer County Parks for information from the public in regards to parks, trails and even sports event fields, two of our board members spent three hours at Hidden Falls Trail entrance.  Tiffany and Claudia greeted each person as they started their morning on the trail.  We came with a handout letting people know about the survey and requesting that they please take a moment when they get home to do the survey.  Amazingly, very few, like next to none, even knew there was such a survey.  Most were interested in completing the survey and we are hoping they did!

As they greeted people & handed them the survey info sheet, they recorded the amount of people in their group and what county they were from.  The count, which included children, was over 400 people.  Yes, 400 people in three hours came, traversed the trail and left starting at 9:30 am!  Interesting still yet, the count of people from Placer County and Sacramento County were almost even.  There were people from Nevada, Washington, Florida!

We hope that all MVTA Members took the time to respond to the survey!

Remember, you can sit in on any Board Meeting!

 Trail Work Days
You may have noticed, the Sugar Pine staging area was weed whacked by our Trail Work Crew in the month of May!  It looks so inviting now!

Trail work days will be scheduled based on volunteer availability. If you are interested in helping with trail maintenance, please contact Chris at [email protected].  Chris will contact you to schedule a time that will work best for the participating volunteers.

ARENA
Manure
Please pick up and haul out your horse manure from the Arena and staging area.

We do not have a service to pick up the manure.  It is up to everyone using the arena to pick up their manure and haul it out. Please help keep our arena, staging area, and dog park clean!

Gate
Please make sure that the gate is closed and locked when you leave the arena.  People will illegally dump trash in the staging area, if the gate is open and no one is there.

If you see anyone dumping illegally, get their license plate number and call 911 with the information!
