Contrary to recent reports in the media, The City of Miami Beach and Clark Construction Company would like to ensure you that Art Basel Miami Beach will take place as scheduled.
There have been some misunderstandings and questions pertaining to the construction schedules for the Miami Beach Convention Center due to a recent article published by the Miami Herald. The City of Miami Beach and Clark Construction would like to clarify some of the information and update everyone on the status of the project.
As with many major construction projects, there have been some minor setbacks in certain aspects of the construction which have caused delays of approximately 45 days. This, however, will not affect any of the upcoming events, including Art Basel. The construction delays that have been reported have already been addressed and modifications have been made to remedy this in the upcoming year.
Our construction teams, of over 400 people working 24/7 and city staff, work closely to ensure that we stay on track to meet the needs of the upcoming events that are booked during the construction timeframe. The City of Miami Beach and Clark Construction are on track to finalize the upgrades to the Miami Beach Convention Center as originally stated.
